Little Hoquiam has lengthened boats in a couple of ways. We have cut the transom off and lengthened so as not to disturb the rudder and running gear and we have cut the boat in the widest section (usually right in the middle) which require lengthening the shaft and steering system. When cutting the boat in the middle you typically gain the space where needed the most, in the fish-hold. When we “sponson” a vessel, we basically make the vessel wider.  This makes the vessel, more steady, the fish do not slosh around as much and making the quality of the fish delivered much better with delivery less frequent. Re-power may involve cutting decks out and re- glassing  the deck back in or out a engine room hatch. Sometimes you must cut an opening in the fish-hold bulkhead and re-glass the bulkhead when finished. When we repaint a vessel our finish painters fair out all blemishes (air bubbles, delamination, scratches or any other damaged areas first before painted. Your finish paint will only look as good as the prep work done before painting, so the priority is focused on prep. before painting. We also have built and replace tanks, repaired or replaced bulkheads, decks, cabin soles, windows and updated floorcovering, table tops, upholstery and rebuilt galleys, staterooms, heads, I could go on but pretty much what ever a customer desires.
